What should I do if I have a medical emergency?
If you or someone else is suffering a medical emergency, dial 911 from any campus telephone.

All 911 calls will go directly to the South Orange Police Department.

What should I do if I have a psychological (mental health) emergency?
If you or someone else is suffering a mental health emergency, please call Counseling and Psychological Services at (973) 761-9500. Students may also call this 24-hour # for psychological emergencies – 973-275-HELP (4357).

If a suicide attempt or threat has been made, dial 911.

What is considered an emergency?
Severe medical conditions and/or injuries and immediate threats to the safety of a person or property.

Mental health emergencies include severe emotional distress and suicidal thoughts.

What if my emergency requires follow up care?
Follow the advice given to you at the time of your visit. Some follow up care may be available at Health Services. Please call us with questions.
