The School of Diplomacy and International Relations’  World Leaders Forum returns with an address by His Excellency Mr. Dennis Francis, President of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Ambassador Dennis Francis is career diplomat from Trinidad and Tobago who has served as his country’s permanent representative to the UN since 2021.

In June 2023, he was elected President of the United Nations 78th General Assembly. Mr. Francis also served as his country’s ambassador from 1998 through 2016. As Director of Multilateral Relations he acted as Senior Adviser to the Minister for Foreign Affairs on all multilateral-level matters, including climate change and the negotiations of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In addition to being Trinidad and Tobago’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, he also represented his country on the World Trade Organization, the UN Human Rights Council, and is a Permanent Delegate to UNESCO.
