Center for Public Service

About the Center

Since its founding almost 20 years ago the Center for Public Service has brought over $5 million to Seton Hall University in grants, contracts and scholarships for students in the Department of Political Science and Public Affairs. The center has also been a focus for community outreach for the University by offering pro bono technical assistance to many community-based organizations in our area.

In addition, its Nonprofit Sector Resource Institute (NSRI) offers non-credit certificate programs to the general public. Building on this record of success the Center for Public Service and NSRI have recently partnered with United Postal Service in developing a the nationally recognized Board Leadership Institute, which trains corporate leaders how to serve on nonprofit boards. Scholarships

We realize graduate school is a commitment of both time and money.  The Center for Public Service has several endowed scholarships dedicated to students in the Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) program seeking careers in the public and nonprofit sectors.

Faculty and Students

The Center coordinates interdisciplinary research with many DPHA faculty and students, and with them provides technical assistance to a wide range of government, nonprofit and community-based organizations.
