Terence Teo, Ph.D

Terence K. Teo is an assistant professor of political science and public affairs at Seton Hall. His current research interests include democratic backsliding, authoritarian regimes, and metascience, and he uses game theory, statistics, and case studies in his work. He has published in the American Political Science Review, Government and Opposition, and International Studies Quarterly. He was recently elected Secretary of the Democracy and Autocracy section of the American Political Science Association.

Terence teaches courses on game theory, research methods, statistics (with the R programming language), comparative politics, political economy, economic history, and data visualization. He previously taught at Brown University and Rutgers University.
