Hired in 1992, Dr. Weitz is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computing and Decision Sciences, where he teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in Information Systems and Quantitative Analysis. In his work as instructor, he has introduced several innovations in his coursework, including participating in the initial pilot and subsequent rollout of mobile computing at Seton Hall, utilizing tablet computing in the classroom for recording and posting lecture notes, and regularly utilizing interactive instructional and assessment software in his undergraduate information systems class. Dr. Weitz has been an Instructional Technology Faculty Fellow (appointed by the university's Teaching, Learning and Technology Center), and is currently the Stillman School's Director of the Division of Teaching and Learning. 

Dr. Weitz's research interests center on the diffusion of instructional technology and the development and evaluation of intelligent tutoring systems. His research, which includes both contributions to practice and to the scholarship of teaching, has appeared in, among others, the Journal of Artificial Intelligence in Education, the Journal of Educational Technology and Society, Information and Management, Omega: The International Journal of Management Science, Decision Sciences, the Journal of Management Information Systems, and the Journal of the Operational Research Society. He has presented his research at national and international conferences, such as the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Education, the Americas Conference on Information Systems, The World Conference on Educational Multimedia, Hypermedia and Telecommunications, The U.S. Conference on Teaching Statistics, The Annual Meeting of the Cognitive Science Society and the Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS) conferences.
