Jane Ko, Ph.D.

At Seton Hall, Dr. Jane Ko teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses, which mainly are related to the fields of Molecular Biology and Neuroscience. In addition to teaching, she also serves as a pre-health professional adviser for undergraduates and the graduate adviser for Ph.D. students in the Molecular Biosciences program of Department of Biological Sciences.
Dr. Ko specializes in Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology. Her main research is investigating molecular mechanisms underlying an opioid receptor regulation in the nervous system. The regulation of receptor in neuronal cells can be altered under different pathological conditions, which may influence the effects of drug treatments. Research results from her laboratory are published in peer-reviewed journals as well as presented in scientific meetings. Currently, this research is supported by NIH and Seton Hall University research funding. To contribute her expertise to the scientific community, Dr. Ko also serves as a member of NIH RFA Grant Review Committee and an ad hoc reviewer for various peer-reviewed scientific journals.
