Emily Suero is a passionate, dedicated student studying Political Science in the College of Arts and Sciences. She is a New Jersey native and has lived her whole life in Englewood, before deciding to attend Seton Hall to continue her education. Being born and raised in a Dominican-American immigrant household has given Emily a distinct perspective on life and leadership and has also become the source of her insatiable desire to keep experiencing and learning. Her friendly and outgoing demeanor makes her eager to always interact with and meet new people.

Being selected to become a part of the Buccino Leadership Institute was one of the many factors that motivated Emily to choose Seton Hall. This prestigious program that offers many promising opportunities to advance her raw leadership skills, piqued Emily's interest and has shown her a glimpse of the amazing professional world that lies in her future. "I heard about this amazing opportunity at the university and thought, 'I cannot pass this up', so I decided to just go for it!", she explained. This university is also perfectly sized and provides an interactive environment that encourages deeper learning for students just like Emily.

Emily believes that "leading is not about always being in charge, but rather knowing when to take a step back and listen to your team." One of the main things that makes a team work efficiently and run smoothly is a leader who is willing to take suggestions and be open to feedback for the betterment of the group. Leadership is not necessarily about having the most power and influence, but rather using the power and influence you have to better a situation. Being a part of the Buccino Leadership Institute has taught Emily that working with a diverse group of individuals from all different majors, walks of life, and backgrounds produces the best results.

After completing her undergraduate studies at Seton Hall, Emily plans on working in the legal field, in order to eventually enroll in a law school to continue her studies and earn a juris doctorate degree. Defending the rights and choices of those who seem voiceless has always been something Emily has wanted to do, and becoming a lawyer is the perfect place to do so. By becoming an advocate for civil and human rights, Emily hopes to bring a positive change and be a light of hope in a world that can seem dark at times.
