Romero-King Vigil on the University Green

Every year, the University CORE holds an annual week and a half celebrating the lives
and commemorating the deaths of Saint Oscar Romero and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
This vigil on the green culminated the event this past spring of 2023.
Achieving Just Mercy
November 15, 2022
The CORE joined with the Law School in a follow-up to our presentation last year by
Bryan Stevenson, author of Just Mercy, with guests from the legal system, sharing
their experiences. A panel of experts explored some of the themes in Just Mercy: unjust
sentencing, particularly of under-age convicts; the potential to turn one's life around;
and the importance of mercy.
The Lutheran Reformation Perspective
November 9, 2022
William Rusch, Ph.D., Lutheran minister and professor from Yale Divinity School, shared
a unique view on reformer Martin Luther.
Inter Religious Panel on Suffering and Healing
April 2022
A panel of Seton Hall scholars discussed the perspective on suffering and healing
from four faith traditions: Christian, Jewish, Hindu and Muslim.
Dante Re Interpreted
November 2021
The University’s award-winning Brownson Speech and Debate team presented "Dante and
the Good Life: Dante Reinterpreted," in which students performed renditions of passages
from Dante’s "Divine Comedy."
