Divinity

The Master of Divinity program is the main professional degree program preparing men for ministry in the Roman Catholic Church, primarily through ordination to the priesthood.

More than 150 Years of Preparing Men for the Priesthood at the Immaculate Conception Seminary

Seminary Classroom

"The classes were high-quality and the professors were extremely qualified, especially in the scriptural, historical and systematic courses I took. The teachers here believe in what they are teaching. I often felt they spoke not only to my mind but also to my heart. When I compared what I was doing here with what friends studying in seminaries in Florida or in Rome or Jerusalem were doing, these were the strongest and most educational."

Father Michael Eguino, SDB

Curriculum

Our comprehensive curriculum consists of four components:

  • Coursework
  • Field education and theological reflection
  • Spiritual formation
  • M.Div. comprehensive projects

Classes are offered on Seton Hall University's campus in South Orange, New Jersey.

Over the course of this program, our students study the history of Christianity, explore moral theology and take classes on preaching, pastoral psychology and canon law of marriage.
