This year's theme, "Women's Education - Women's Empowerment," pays tribute to the valiant struggle waged by many tenacious women -- across years and across cultures -- to receive the same educational opportunities as men. It also acknowledges and celebrates the 40th anniversary of Title IX and the 75th anniversary of women at Seton Hall University.

Conference includes brunch and three afternoon workshops.

Camelia M. ValdesKeynote Speaker: Honorable Camelia M. Valdes, Passaic County Prosecutor

Alumna Camelia M. Valdes '93/J.D., is the first Latina county prosecutor in New Jersey, the first woman prosecutor in Passaic County and the first lead prosecutor of Dominican ancestry in the United States. Valdes will focus on her experiences and lessons learned. Learn more »

Conference Service Projects
Supporting Literacy and Women in Our Area


This year's Service Projects benefit the East Orange Public Library and Dress for Success, Madison, NJ Chapter, servicing the Newark Area:

Book Drive for a Cause
Donate gently used adult and children's books.


East Orange Public LibraryBooks will be donated to East Orange Public Library. In addition, children's books will be given to a newly established pantry at the Orange Public Library, which will give books directly to low-income families. This is a joint project with the Junior League of Short Hills and the Oranges.

Dress for Success Clothes Drive
Donate gently used women's business/business casual attire.


Dress for Success promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. The Madison Avenue Chapter Services approximately 50 women per month and a total of 600 women a year.

Items will be collected on:

 The Woman of the Year Award is sponsored by the Gerontology Advisory Council.
