It’s Happening Now - The Next Generation of Mobile Computing Arrives at Seton Hall
Seton Hall proudly announces the expansion of its award winning mobile technology program. In 1998, we began providing all undergraduates with laptops and one-to-one support services to enhance teaching and learning. But as technology rapidly evolves – think tablets and cloud-based services-- so has our mobile computing effort.

Tablets and Ultrabooks
Students from the Class of 2016 enrolled in science or honors programs will receive the Samsung Slate PC. Powered by Microsoft’s brand new Windows 8 operating system, the Slate offers the convenience of a tablet with the productivity of a PC.
Freshmen in all other disciplines are receiving the Samsung Series 5 ultra book featuring similar access to Windows 8 as well as Windows 7. As part of their junior year technology refresh, juniors in the same disciplines upgrade to Samsung tablets and laptops this fall.
In business today you need to be up to the minute in terms of technology. The Windows 8 platform allows students immediate access to ongoing developments worldwide.

Smartphones
In addition to their new PCs, all incoming freshmen received a Nokia Lumia 900 running Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system.
Our unique partnerships with Microsoft, AT&T and Nokia, have enabled Seton Hall able to provide voice, text and data plan (free through the end of 2012) to students, giving them access to the information and resources they need to be successful at Seton Hall on the whatever computing platform they choose.
4 Screen System
What makes SHU Mobile Computing so innovative is that we are giving our students the opportunity to easily connect across the university through a flexible system that is available on their computer, smart phone, gaming system, or the cloud. They can register for a class, locate a classroom, collaborate on a project with classmates, plan a club meeting, and so much more on any platform anytime, anywhere.
