The TV News Summer Camp is a one-week, on-campus non-credit summer camp designed for high school juniors and seniors. The camp will provide instruction and experience in the creation of a studio newscast. Students will learn writing and performing skills and shooting/reporting on location. The camp culminates in live-to-tape newscast of their original writing and reporting.
Students will be given the opportunity to develop and increase confidence, communication skills and individuality through television news in a college campus setting. Students will gain a better understanding of what it takes to deliver a newscast.
Schedule
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
- 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.: Journalism Segment
- 10:30 a.m.: Break
- 12 - 1 p.m.: Brown Bag Lunch *
- 1 - 4 p.m.: TV Studio Instruction
Thursday and Friday
- 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.: TV Studio Taping
- 10:30 a.m.: Break
- 12 -1 p.m.: Brown Bag Lunch *
Tuition: $750
