The Camp is a four-week summer camp program providing an opportunity for middle school students to develop confidence, communication skills and individuality in a college campus setting, while gaining valuable insight in acting and stagecraft from Seton Hall Theatre Faculty and Alumni. This unique four-week experience culminates in a theatrical performance in Seton Hall’s on-campus Theatre-in-the-Round, the only stage of its kind in New Jersey.
Develop acting skills- Learn how to create a character
- Interpret scripts and bring them to life
- Work on listening, responding and focus
- Receive individual student training
- Integrate music, improvisation and acting skills in a final production
- Work on monologues specific to your skills
- Taught by Seton Hall Theatre faculty, alumni and professionals.

Program Director
Deirdre Yates, M.F.A., is a Professor of Theatre in the Department of Communication and the Arts at Seton Hall University. Professor Yates teaches Theatre Performance classes and offers the study abroad course, Theatre in London. Professor Yates directs two main-stage productions annually and has directed professionally with the Women's Theatre Company and at the Bickford Theatre. She is a member of the Equity Company, The Yates Musical Theatre for Children, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Celtic Theatre Company. She is an advisor to the Theatre Council, a co-curricular student organization.
