Pirate Adventure is a mandatory two-day program for all freshmen. You will meet other incoming students, professors and your mentors. You'll also receive your laptop, student ID card and Fall Semester academic schedule.
Confirm Your Attendance

To confirm your attendance, click the Sign In button on the right. Your username and password were mailed to you upon receipt of your deposit. Haven't received anything? Make sure you've made your tuition deposit. It takes about two weeks after your deposit is received for your account information to be sent out. If it's been more than two weeks since you deposited, contact the Office of Freshman Studies at (973) 761-9740 or freshman@shu.edu.
Placement Testing
Some students need to take placement tests in English, math and/or a foreign language in order to be placed in the correct course level. Testing is based upon your SAT or ACT score. Read more about Placement Testing »

Schedule of Activities
Check out both the student and parent schedule of activities to get an idea what your voyage will be like. Please note that the activities are separate and once the program begins, parents and students won’t see each other ‘til the next day.
Freshman Orientation Weekend: August 23-25
Save the dates for our Freshman Orientation Weekend, or Pirate Weekend, August 23-25. This mandatory event helps all freshmen get acclimated to the University and includes your first University Life Class.- Schedules will be available soon

Transfer Enrolling Process
Transfer student orientation will be on August 21. Transfer students will receive more information regarding orientation via mail. In the meantime, you can get started on the Transfer Student Enrolling Checklist.
